Can Alpha Lipoic Acid Help You Turn Back the Clock?

Years of abuse from illnesses, too little exercise, too much junk food, and chemical and environmental pollutants takes its toll on our bodies. One of the worst offenders is free radicals — those pesky little lonely electrons looking for a new home and destroying every cell they contact. What would you give to turn back the clock? Fortunately, it may not be as difficult as you expect — especially if you’re taking alpha lipoic acid.

How does alpha lipoic acid work? A lot of the damage caused to the body is from inflammation. Alpha lipoic acid isn’t all you’ll need. It’s also a good idea to stop doing the things that caused the inflammation. Change your diet to include organic proteins — especially chicken and eggs, they’re generally pretty easy on the body whereas red meat can cause inflammation — whole grains, and fresh fruits and vegetables. And get rid of the commercial salad dressings, saturated fats, and so on. Opt for healthy oils like olive or coconut, and mix them with a little apple cider vinegar for a great homemade dressing!

You also want to live as chemical-free as possible. Chemicals are, in part, the reason why free radicals are so abundant. Switch from toxic household cleansers, air fresheners, soaps, dishwasher detergent, and so on, to a more natural products. Fortunately, alpha lipoic acid also fights free radicals, but why make it work harder than it has to?

You can get alpha lipoic acid from green veggies like spinach and broccoli, from beef, and from organ meats. Or you can ensure you have a sufficient quantity by taking a supplement.

Alpha lipoic acid is a vital for many basic bodily functions. You may not look thirty years younger if you take it, but it will make a difference.
